✅ In the book “Villa Adriana. Architettura Celeste. I Segreti dei Solstizi” we studied the astronomical orientations of two buildings in the Villa Adriana in Tivoli, the Accademia and Roccabruna.

✅ The two buildings are located on the Accademia Esplanade, and are astronomically oriented so as to be crossed by the rays of the Sun at the dawn of the Winter Solstice and at the sunset of the Summer Solstice.

✅ These discoveries of Archaeoastronomy – the first ones in Villa Adriana – are illustrated in detail in our book, with astronomical calculations and archaeological and mythological explanations.

✅ Archeoastronomy has given us a new key to understand the meaning and function of these two buildings and of the Accademia esplanade: it was a sacred area, the real acropolis of the Villa.
